Planning is half the fun. For years, we worked hard, saved up money, and dreamed. During that time, we did as much weekend exploring as we could, Tim took an off-road riding class, and he also attended the Overland Expo West to get inspired by seasoned adventure motorcyclists.
We crossed the plains to the American West where we got to explore natural wonders such as the Grand Canyon and Death Valley, along with Native American sites such as Mesa Verde and the Taos Pueblos.
We dipped into the only English-speaking country in Central America to explore more Mayan ruins and soak up Belize's Caribbean flair.
Guatemala's jungles, volcanoes, and indigenous cultures simply blew our minds. It was here that the adventure spirit of jumping off secluded waterfalls and exploring jungle caves really got our blood pumping.
El Salvador & Honduras
We indulged ourselves with quaint colonial towns, church-top views, and of course, delicious pupusas.
We came in search of sloths, and we found them, along with monkeys, giant iguanas, toucans, poisonous frogs...
Panama was beautiful, and getting across the Darien Gap to Colombia in a sailboat for five days turned out to be an adventure of its own.
